Hurtigruten

I have posted about the Hurtigruten before with respect to looking at life in the circum-polar regions.

It is a scheduled boat service, which runs down the coast of Norway, and carries freight and paying passengers (tickets are 'reassuringly expensive') starting out as a postal route. A live map shows you where the vessels that work the route are situated at any given time.
For the next few days, in a special live event you can follow a real voyage, and watch the views from the boat. As I write this the boat is arriving in Tromso (how do you get accents in a blogger compose window ?)

It seems to be attracting a lot of interest with boats sailing alongside the vessel and people waving. There are views from various angles, including from inside the boat.

Thanks to Keir Clarke for blogging about this, and providing details on how to access further 'layers of information' including images and mapping. Given the time of year, the voyage should take place in daylight the whole time...

Seems like I've missed most of the journey, but it's apparently going to be made available in chunks after the event...
