Mission:Explore

The Dead Easy Badge

Someone sent me a picture of our Mission:Explore books at the Edinburgh Book Festival.
It gave me a reminder of the work that we have done over the last decade to produce an award-winning series of children's books.
They are mostly available to purchase via Amazon or other sources where one finds books.

"Mission:Explore is a brilliant way to stimulate children's and young people's interest in their social and physical environment, their curiosity and their sense of the absurd. The case for risk as a necessary and exciting part of life, that needs handling intelligently, is acknowledged well. This is geography, and fieldwork, at its most creative, and has the potential to inspire a new generation of thoughtful, ethical and courageous geographers."
Susan Buckingham, Professor of Geography

I also found other comments on the work that we did on our early Journey Journal.

"We think this is a fabulous initiative to get young people interested in the people, culture and traditions of the countries they visit."
 The Travel Foundation

"The ideal document for all aspiring geographers to keep alongside their passport - see a new place and write your own book about it."
Dr Nick Middleton, University of Oxford, writer and presenter of the 'Extremes' series on Channel 4

"So many children today interact more with the screen in front of their noses than the world around them. The Journey Journal is a really imaginative way of encouraging young travellers to look up and around at the places they visit, to engage with the people who live there, and to think about the impact their travels might have on themselves and others."
Hilary Wilce, education journalist and author of 'Help Your Child Succeed at School'

“This is exactly the kind of initiative we need if we are to successfully inspire the curious minds of the future to pursue a more thoughtful way of travelling; one that helps create better places for people to live in and to visit.”
Justin Francis, MD www.responsibletravel.com

"I like the fact that the JJ asks questions not usually connected to 'kid's travel', and offers the chance for the younger traveller to actually experience something real and be truly aware of their surroundings. It acutally goes further than that and helps the user to create a social and emotional documentation of their trip. This is good. This is real."
