(Not so) fun in the sun

A new paper explores the way that heatwaves are going to change our life for the worse in the future, and how they are not portrayed in the dangerous way that they will endanger life, but rather as opportunities for people to sunbathe and eat ice cream.

It has also been used as the basis for this Guardian aticle by Saffron O' Neill.

One can imagine the images that would be used by the Daily Mail if there was a heatwave during a bank holiday weekend, rather than perhaps images of some of the more negative consequences of prolonged heat that we are seeing in India and Pakistan.
