Some forthcoming events...

OK, so another part of my job is to speak at various events representing the GA.
Coming up later this month is a lecture to the GA Manchester Branch, at Manchester University.

High and Dry? Geographical Lessons from the Yorkshire Floods of June 2007

The topic is the Summer Floods of 2007, and below is a link to a little Animoto video that I will be using as a starter (or at least a version of it...)

In October is a conference on GCSE Geography, in association with SfE.
I am doing a session looking at Physical Geography in the new GCSEs. Here is the title slide as a taster. Included will be some ideas for adding some new 'sparkle' to the new specifications...

And in the longer term, there are some conferences coming up in 2009 at a number of locations including York and Belfast !
Here's my title slide for a workshop I shall be running: this is my favourite road sign. It's a real one, in Kent, and this excellent image was taken by Flickr user Cushdy. For the latest news on what the GA branches are up to, check HERE. There may be an event near you soon !
And get in touch if you want to know more details about any of these events.

Thanks to all Flickr users involved in sharing their images.
