Is wool a local or a global product?

As always, the various paths that a resource can take need to be explored, and although a product may appear to be local, this may not be the full story.

I remember some years ago drinking a beer which gave the impression that it was brewed in Cambridge, but turned out to be brewed in Norfolk under license, and so had travelled over fifty miles rather than a few hundred yards.
