In just over a week's time I shall be boarding a flight to JFK airport in New York.We will be spending five days in the city.
I've been browsing books and asking colleagues about the things I really need to see, and got quite a few ideas from folks already. I've borrowed quite a few books and bought a few more, and have maps with lots of scribbles and dots, and a flexible itinerary for what to do.
We have the New York Pass for 2 days, which will get us into most of the major attractions of the city, and also on the Big Bus tour of the city, which goes around the main parts to help us get our bearings.
Thanks to the geographers who have already given me plenty to see.
Looks like I'll be heading out to Astoria and Flushing Meadows, and over to Brooklyn Heights, and Staten Island, as well as exploring Manhattan.
If you have any other highlights of things that a geographer must not miss, then please let me know by commenting on the post, sending me a Tweet or telling me in Manchester next week at the GA Conference.
