South Georgia Heritage Trust

I've blogged about South Georgia previously, with respect to a GIS website which shared some recent mapping of the islands.
South Georgia is a group of islands in the South Atlantic, which is a British Overseas Territory.

There are some new opportunities for teachers to engage with this incredible place, as the website offers some interesting stories which connect with some themes such as 'sustaining ecosystems', 'carbon cycles', 'climate change', 'glaciated landscapes', 'sustainable tourism' and many others.

I am going to be working on some new resources through the next six months, and will keep you posted with more details in a month or so once I get going on them in earnest. A fabulous part of the world.

Update
Congratulations to Alison Neil, the Chief Executive of the SGHT, who was awarded an MBE in the recent Honours list for her services to conservation
