COVID-19 Home Learning Resources for Geographers - #50 - KCL Fieldwork Investigations Teacher Geography

I've now reached 50 resources for Geographers which have emerged during lockdown or would be of use to those in lockdown - perhaps to refresh your professional subject knowledge or as a resource of some kind.
King's College London is offering a free course. Get an EVENTBRITE ticket here.

Here are the details:

The introduction of the Geography Fieldwork Investigation to the A-level curriculum has created new interest and challenges to both pupils and teachers alike. Pupils choose and investigate their own research question in a geographic field in a similar manner to a dissertation at university. University research staff have a depth of experience in both conducting research and supervising dissertations, so are in an ideal position to offer advice and resources to teachers to encourage high quality fieldwork investigations.

The Department of Geography at King’s College London will hold a half-day virtual workshop to collaborate and share experiences of research and supervision with geography teachers. There will be a choice of session in the workshop which will discuss different elements involved in conducting field research in geography. Each session will be split into a webinar style presentation by staff members at KCL followed by wider Q&A discussions. In doing so, they will share their best practice advice for conducing fieldwork projects in their relevant fields. There will be time set aside for questions.

The online workshop will also give teachers a chance to establish links with KCL, see what current research is being conducted and a pack will be provided with resources and activities for the various elements discussed in the sessions.
