Why Study Geography?

Why Study Geography?
I can think of lots of reasons - which is just as well as I am currently writing a book with that very title.
It's part of a series of books which is being published in the coming months.
The books explore the reasons why the subject in question matters, and provide guidance to those who are considering studying geography (in the case of my book) at a higher level within schools and colleges, or going further and into university study. They explore what students can expect of undergraduate study, and where their studies can take them, complete with some case studies of people who have used their geography qualifications in different ways with varied career paths.

There is still a chance for you to share your views. I set this Google Form up some weeks ago for colleagues to share their thoughts on The Value of Studying Geography at School and University.
All thoughts welcome to feed into a final section of the book. Thanks to those who have already replied.

I now have a copy of the History book, written by two University lecturers. It's worth History colleagues getting hold of a copy.
More details can be seen on the publishers' website here.

From the LPP website:
Studying any subject at degree level is an investment in the future that involves significant cost. Now more than ever, students and their parents need to weigh up the potential benefits of university courses. That’s where the Why Study series comes in. This series of books, aimed at students, parents and teachers, explains in practical terms the range and scope of an academic subject at university level and where it can lead in terms of careers or further study. Each book tries to both enthuse the reader about its subject and answer the crucial questions that a college prospectus does not.
As you can see from the front of the book, the Geography book is coming up in a next phase of publication.
I shall of course be letting you know more about this in due course.
