CIA World Factbook - revamped

Back in the day, the CIA World Factbook was a key site for geographers who wanted to find information about other countries. It was one place where information on countries such as population, industry, climate etc were on one website. Other sites such as ESRI's Living Atlas began to overtake and replace it, and I confess to not having visited the site for years.

Thanks to Mr Machin for a tweet which gave the news that the CIA World Factbook has had an upgrade and a revamp and is now worth another look.

There are country profiles, explanations of the meanings of flags, maps, data sources and other useful resources for geographers, including those who have been set research tasks to complete perhaps during lockdown learning.
