GTE Conference 2022

The details of the GTE Conference for 2022 are now being firmed up.

I have attended quite a few events over the last 13 years since I originally joined the GA as a staff member for a while and always found them entertaining and useful to expand my professional networks and knowledge.

GTE is the Geography Teacher Educators' conference.

Geography Teacher Educators' (GTE) Conferences are annual events, taking place in January or February each year. GTE Conferences bring Geography Initial Teacher Education (ITE) trainers from across the UK and further afield together, to exchange ideas, discuss one another's research and debate current issues within geography education. The Geography Teacher Educators’ Conference runs independently of the Geographical Association, but is grateful to benefit from GA administrative support.

Last year's event was scheduled for Dublin but became an online event and reached a new audience which was excellent to see. It was also a chance to celebrate the work of Margaret Roberts.

Next year's event will be a hybrid event and will take place in the Midlands.

Sessions will run from 4:30pm on Friday 28 January to noon on Sunday 31 January 2022, with hotel check in from 3:00pm Friday and lunch provided before departure on Sunday. The full programme will be available to view in early January 2022.

Proposals for sessions will be accepted from 1 October 2021, details to follow.
