Climate Code Shirt #1

I posted about this shirt when I pre-ordered it back in June. It arrived earlier in the week, and has had a lot of interest online.

The shirt visualises the data displayed in the climate stripes of Ed Hawkins.

It has been made by a company called DressCode Shirts who make other shirts with a scientific and coding theme.

The shirt includes the climate stripes of course in a repeated pattern, but the collar and cuffs also contain graphs showing rise in carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere.

The fabric is Tencel, which is apparently made from cellulose fibres from ecualyptus.

The shirt has been made using methods which are particularly sustainable, and it arrived in packaging which is recyclable.

Pre-ordering meant a lower price than the shirt is currently available for. It also shipped with a pocket square for additional sartorial elegance.

The shirt comes with a leaflet outlining the scientific background and the efforts made to reduce the environmental impact of creating the shirt.
