A book that I often return to is Paula Zuccotti's 'Everything we Touch'.
This was a photography project but also an exploration of anthropology and sociology in terms of exploring the things we particularly value.
People's houses are likely to have a whole range of new items in them following Christmas/Hanukkah gift giving.
What are their stories?
Is it worth asking students when they return to identify one of their gifts and then unpick its story?
