GAConf22: 'Linking Time and Place: History and Geography in EY-KS2' - #13 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

This session is presented by two colleagues from Roehampton University.

Anthony Barlow is particularly involved in Primary education and Teacher education. I've 'worked' with Anthony in numerous contexts over the years, and he always has something interesting to say, with a thorough basis from research or practice to underpin it. He has also contributed numerous articles to 'Primary Geography' journal and written widely as well.

Planning local geography and history rooted in the everyday built environment is fun and exciting. However, how to do this well is often elusive to teachers. Karin and Anthony will share approaches to help bring the local to life and show how these Humanities subjects can offer much shared conceptual thinking. There will be reflections on key concepts suggested in the light of the Ofsted Research Reviews.
