GAConf22: 'The responsible traveller' - how can 21st Century educational travel be sustainable? - #8 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

Here's a description of the session:

As educational travel returns, it is important that we consider its potential impacts. The value to students of international experiences is well established, and an ethical model is achievable. Partnering with Camps International, we will look at ‘The Responsible Traveller’, linking education, travel and the UN SDGS, and ask where school, teacher and student responsibilities lie in sustainable travel.

Camps International are one of many overseas travel suppliers who offer itineraries for students. They offer expeditions for young people. The GA Conference will feature quite a few travel companies, and none of them receive any preferential treatment here. They are all worthy of a closer look to see which works best for you, depending on a range of criteria you will already have for your school.

The global pandemic challenged the company - as with all travel companies. Real World Studies was bor during this period. It is a growing, blended learning programme made up of over 200 educational resources, coupled with Connect with Camps online sessions, and it enables both teachers and students to link directly with our in-country teams to discuss global issues.

The session will presumably introduce the new 'Responsible Traveller' to encourage young people to travel sustainably. Register free on the website to see a range of existing resources.
