GAConf22: Anita Sethi - 'I Belong Here' - #45 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

Anita Sethi's name was one of the first I added to my list of potential people to ask to speak at the conference. Her book was new out at the time, and getting a lot of coverage in the newspapers with regards to its origins, discussions of racism, and also messages relating to the power of engaging with the Pennines. You'll find numerous references to the book here on the blog.

I have travelled through the areas she travels many times and she explores familiar places through fresh eyes.

Anita presented at the RGS-IBG in December last year, delivering one of the Monday Night Lectures. RGS members / fellows can still watch a recording of this (and other recent lectures) here.

Join the author of the acclaimed book I Belong Here: A Journey Along the Backbone of Britain, as she talks about exploring nature, wildness, walking and what it means to belong.

Anita Sethi, Journalist and Writer

I am hoping that Anita will have recovered sufficiently from a recent accident while in Iceland to be able to join us. We wish her all the best for her continued recovery.
