GAConf22: 'Everyday geographies...everywhere' - finding the local in the global - #51 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

In this session Kris Heeramun delivers a practical workshop which focuses on finding the everyday in the local, which connects with the global.

Geographers are story tellers. We experience far flung corners of the world and transport this back into our classrooms. The next iteration of this helps pupils turn spaces into places, without ever visiting them. 

How do we study Shanghai from Sheffield? 

This practical workshop focuses on how to find those everyday geographies in hard-to-reach places.

A friend of mine used to teach art at Worksop College for a while. It's a nice place to be, and I remember watching a cricket match there in the sun.
