The pandemic has limited children’s access to outdoor spaces.
Research shows that access to the environment helps grow positive relationships with/for the planet, which at a time of climate emergency is essential. This session reflects on recent research on children’s climate fiction and shares ways in which we can harness the botanical even when we can’t enjoy corporeal experiences.
Dr. Verity Jones is sharing her research in this session. She has recently written on similar themes for Primary Geography journal.
With the current showing of 'The Green Planet' getting a lot of attention, this is an area which has a lot of attraction to young people.
