GAConf22: The ultimate SO WHAT? Putting UK Climate Change on the map - #48 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

Climate Change and the Climate Emergency have emerged as a key issue for teachers to engage with, and to deal with the anxiety that is beginning to emerge, partly triggered by the realisation that the world is changing. COVID19 has showed how the 'everyday' can be disrupted - something which those of us who are older are less / more aware of? Open to discussion there....

The session description says:

As geographers we are always making the leap from theoretical to real world by asking WHAT IF? or SO WHAT? questions. In this session we will share resources and approaches to help explore the biggest SO WHAT? questions of our time.

How will climate change affect our everyday lives?

How will it impact health, food & farming, transport and more?

Esri Sponsored Session

Workshop

KS3-P16

This is a Workshop, so there will be doubtless be a chance to explore some of the maps that ESRI has produced in this area recently. There has been some recent work with the Met Office for example which I have blogged in the past.

Download your own Climate Stripes - as developed by Ed Hawkins of the University of Reading.

Watch out for me at the Conference, as I will be wearing my Climate Code shirt.
