GAConf22: Young People's Everyday Geographies: Belonging, Identity and Place-Making - #59 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

It's been really pleasing to see a number of sessions focussing on young people's geographies. This is an area that I have been reading quite a bit about and also took part in while a teacher, and then working for the GA on the Young People's Geographies project.

Young People's Everyday Geographies

This session will consider the everyday geographies of young people, focusing on domestic spaces and local environments.

In particular, it will reflect on the relationship between mobility and placemaking, including Covid-19 restrictions as well as policies to encourage outdoor exercise, and provide case studies on young people’s place-making as well as inspiring ideas for students’ engagement with their local environments.
