GAConf22: Everyday geographies of hurricanes 2 - double session - #106 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

This a workshop and part of a double session - the linked lecture has previously been blogged about, incliuding the comic and resources about Hurricane Maria.

This session will build on the lecture, revisiting the powerful/everyday knowledge debate in school geography. We will draw on student voices to show how incorporating everyday lived experiences of Puerto Ricans adds context, politics and humanity to our teaching of Hurricane Maria, and provide practical teaching activities to ensure everyday knowledges are not erased in attempts to create a ‘knowledge rich’ curricula.
