Have supermarkets had their day?

Supermarkets are where most people buy their food and this has been the case for decades.

It is now argued that the golden age of cheap food is over as a result of rising energy prices and a cost of living crisis for many, which has been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine affecting the price of wheat and sunflower oil (which has a knock on effect on the price of anything which has these as an ingredient) along with many other products. With the forecast for drought to last through to October, when seeds have to be drilled for many crops to allow them to establish themselves before the winter, we are likely to see other food price rises as well.

This discussion paper is very interesting
