I started this post a couple of years ago, well before the announcement of the death of Sean Connery, and the eventual release of 'No Time to Die' - the final film to feature Daniel Craig in the role, which I watched on IMAX in Norwich.
I'd been reading a bit about James Bond, following the decision to push back the release of the latest Bond movie, triggered by the pandemic and its impact on cinema audiences.
Some tweets from the time are shown below. They refer to the term "soft power" which many will be familiar with. It forms part of several of the GCSE and 'A' level qualifications.
James Bond has a lot of global connections of course, and not just in terms of the locations visited during the film franchise."Bond is soft power. @VisitBritainbiz has organised campaigns around the release of the last two Bond films, with the slogan #BondIsGREAT... Britain".
