I was privileged to give the Herbertson Memorial Lecture to the branch in November 2008. This was just after I'd joined the GA, and I had a lecture which explored the geographical causes and consequences of the Yorkshire floods of 2007, which had been such a problem in Sheffield.
The lecture is named after A J Herbertson who (with his wife Frances) were a vital part of the early development of the GA. You can read more about him on his post on my GA Presidents blog.
