It's a chunky hardback tome, which is bookended by pieces from Greta Thunberg, who curated the fifty odd short essays. She also introduces each of the sections of the book which are are arranged under some key themes and discussion areas around Climate Change. They include:
- How Climate Works
- How our planet is changing
- How it affect us
- What we've done about it
- What we must do now
The cover image shows the Climate stripes from Ed Hawkins. You can find these on the ShowyourStripes website.
Some reviews have suggested that there is not enough on possible solutions, which a book like Project Drawdown focusses entirely on - it would make a good companion volume perhaps.
Geography teacher Kelly Peppin has also provided a useful thread of tweets as she has read the book and thought about how to use it in the classroom:
Here’s a ๐งต to summarise some of #TheClimateBook key content which may be beneficial for your teaching & #Geography subject knowledge, along with any relevant supporting resources/materials
