This stadium is different to the others in that it was designed to be taken down at the end of the games. This is ostensibly going to add to the sustainability credentials of the games, but this process would also have an impact on the carbon footprint of the games.
The name comes from the 974 shipping containers apparently used in its construction, but 974 is also apparently the dialling code for Qatar.
