Delegates at the conference have access to a folder containing a very interesting document.
This showed something of the history of Charney by showing who attended in every one of the 25 years of the event. It shows that there have been well over two hundred different people who have attended at least one event.
Looking back through the names of attendees, particularly in the early days of the event, shows a who's who of geography, including a fair number of GA Presidents.
My GA Presidents blog has some posts related to Charney here. It mentions some of these names.
They include the following names - memories of these welcome:
- Jeff Battersby
- Trevor Bennetts
- Marian Blankman
- Rachel Bowles
- Greg Cracknell
- Anna Disney
- Wendy Garner
- Paul Gwilliam
- John Halocha
- Jan Janikoun
- Arthur Kelly
- Wendy Morgan
- Alan Palfrey
- Eleanor Rawling
- Daniela Schmeinck
- Paul Weeden
- Patrick Wiegand
I'm pleased to have attended 3 times: twice in person and once virtually.
In 2017, a book was produced for the 20th anniversary. (Link takes you to the GA shop).
Here's my contribution which describes my own early years and Primary experiences and the lasting impact that it has had on me and my identity as a Yorkshireman...
