Campa Cola

Coca Cola is a TNC / MNC - a huge company which in turn is the parent for other companies and their brands e.g. Schweppes

Over the years it has become the dominant Cola brand in territories across the world, and far beyond the original store where the original recipe was first sold in 1888 in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA.

Now, a local Indian cola drink is fighting back. It is called Campa Cola. It used to be very popular in the 1970s and 1980s, but Coca Cola arrived in the 1990s and soon defeated the smaller brand.

Coca Cola has used a number of marketing strategies to do this, depending on the location, and also been blamed for lowering the water table in several locations by extracting water for its products.

Campa Cola is seeing increased sales according to this Guardian article.
