GA Conference 2023 #9: A CPD highlight

For many people, the GA Conference is the CPD highlight of the year. It is always the event that I save my CPD budget for myself (and other members of the department) and also look for support with costs of travel and accommodation.

You can download the booklet from here.

The event takes place in the Easter holiday which removes the need for supply cover, and theis can help with negotiations with SLT over financial support for attending, particularly if the resources and experiences can be shared with the department. Another option to reduce the cost is to go for a hybrid ticket which gives access to streamed sessions. This is a smaller range of sessions, but at least means that 'attendance' can take place for those who can't make it physically to the venue. It doesn't replace the experience of attending in person of course, with the chances to meet people and attend the various social events. This is the only time that I see certain friends and colleagues.

The GA Conference booklet this year has some space for delegates to reflect on the experience of the three days.

This is modelled on some of the work done by Becky Kitchen and other colleagues for the GA Professional Passport.
