Ravenous

Yes, it's another book related to food for my growing library of such books for the geography department at my school. This is developing nicely.

This book has been getting some very good reviews from those who have read it.
This one is written by Henry Dimbleby who was one of the authors of a national report on food and health.
He has worked with Jemima Lewis to develop this book which links with quite a lot of themes surrounding the food we eat and how it is produced.

There has been a good critical response and Henry has also written other food related reports for the government as well as being the co-founder of the LEON restaurant chain (so he is clearly deeply involved in the industry).

I was particularly taken by a section where he buys what is described as a "handmade" egg sandwich, and discovers that egg comes well down the ingredients list.

More to come as I get further stuck in...
