AI - some interesting job outcomes

Thanks to Luc Zwartjes for sharing this article during a meeting earlier in the year.

I have very much enjoyed working with Luc on numerous projects over the years, and he is one of the most thoughtful and energetic educators I have the pleasure to know.

We most recently worked on a project called D3 which was on the theme of AI.

It's an article that has been published in a number of places including the New Yorker magazine. You can usually find a copy somewhere online free of charge.

It's a fascinating look at the people behind the scenes who label images to ensure that they are appaopriately 'tagged' to allow AI tools to make use of them. There are thousands of people whose current job is to help train up AI systems... what jobs will these systems then replace or make unnecessary?

What are the ethics of AI use in this way?

Another reminder of the D3 module that you could take a look at.

We would also welcome any feedback from you. There is a feedback form at the end of each unit.
