Worldly Wednesdays #30: Buckingham Palace

Another term-time Wednesday means it's time for another Worldly Wednesday.

I spent the day in London today.

Substack Number 19 was a scheduled post today.

I was down in London to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party, which is something I never expected to do.
I was there representing the Royal Geographical Society at an event celebrating those involved in Education and Skills.

It’s not my natural habitat, but I enjoyed the experience and the weather certainly helped. The food was really tasty and plentiful. There was a special Twinings Garden Party tea blend and a very nice man was handing out cartons of Hackney Gelato.

The King and Queen were present.

I enjoyed a walk around the gardens and being part of the event. Thanks to the RGS for the invitation. The weather was perfect, although as you can't take any luggage in I had to endure a return train journey without my Bose noise-cancelling headphones.

Thanks to James, Emma and Damien for their company.
