The Long Now Foundation are referenced in the acknowledgements of Ian McEwan's latest book "All we can know", which I recently finished reading.
Co-founded by Brian Eno.
Their projects are quite varied and relate to the future.
The Rosetta Project borrows its name from the Rosetta Stone, which helped to increase the knowledge of ancient languages and help with translations.
There's also a cocktail bar in San Francisco which is a less obvious link with long term futures thinking.
