DG Outtake #8: Sakurajima, Japan

This is one of a series of blog posts linked to the research I did for the 'Discover Geography' series, and mentioning some of the reading I did to prepare some of the chapters.

Not all of this material made it into the final book so I'm sharing it in these posts.

David Roberts: a former colleague on the GA Secondary Phase Committee sent some pictures from a recent trip to Kagoshima. This featured as a case study of hazard preparation and planning in the Discover Geography book, followed by an activity which explored how Mexico City is preparing for a future eruption of Popacatapetl.
