A new post on the Learning to Teach Geography substack from Michelle Minton explores the importance of stories in teaching geography. There are some useful ideas on the importance of stories in teaching.
I've written a lot about this area and my current curriculum is very much based around stories, as was the recent Discover Geography project. This goes back to the work I did when working at the GA, and also the development of the Mission:Explore project.
In 2022, I gave a presentation at the Scottish Association of Geography Teachers' (SAGT) conference on Stories as Compasses. You can view it here.

My interest in stories goes back further than that. My 'Writing the Earth' presentation from 2014 explored different technologies. I remember that being part of a literacy conference in Norfolk.
