New from the PTI: How to teach Geography responsively

A new course from the PTI, running in January 2027.

Global geopolitics is constantly evolving, and major world events can quickly become the subject of classroom discussion - often shaped by sensationalised and social media-driven narratives. This course will equip Geography teachers with the knowledge, confidence and practical strategies to respond to complex global events, evaluate sources critically and help students develop a more informed understanding of the world around them.

Aims of the course:
  • Develop the skills to respond to students' interest in live global developments (geopolitical events, natural disasters etc.)
  • Examine and evaluate a wide range of global media sources to identify reliable teaching materials and avoid bias
  • Refresh and develop teachers' Geopolitical knowledge.
This course is for all Geography teachers. This course will be led by Ben Norton.
