While at Preston Montford, I came across this book in the library: a classic on fieldwork from Barnaby Lenon and Paul Cleves, who were teaching at Eton when they wrote this book. There was plenty here that will be familiar to the older teachers amongst us...In the book, there is a picture of a student measuring the height of sediment on either side of a groyne.
His stance, and blond hair look a little familiar... Got me wondering :) The book was published in the early 80s, and round about 1980, a certain Boris Johnson would have been of an age to do GCSE Geography...
