I've been revisiting a few older books this week as I prepare for some lectures in April (which I realised is next month now, so I need to get cracking on them)This a GRANTA book called 'The New Nature Writing', and features some excellent pieces. It was published in the Summer of 2008, and includes writing by Robert MacFarlane, Mark Cocker, Jonathan Raban and Richard Mabey. Jason Cowley describes the importance of Barry Lopez's work on his.
Robert MacFarlane's piece describes a journey through the Fens to places I know very well.
