Melting glaciers – a new website that is part of the project Icelandic Glaciers – a natural laboratory to study climate change, Melting Glaciers for short. The Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources has appointed the Vatnajökull National Park in cooperation with the Icelandic Meteorological Office to implement the project, in collaboration with the South East Iceland Nature Research Center and the Institute of Earth Sciences of the University of Iceland. The goal of the project, which is a part of the government’s climate change agenda, is to increase awareness about climate change and the associated consequences for glaciers in Iceland and elsewhere.The FRIENDS of Vatnajökull Association funded part of the educational website.
