COVID-19 Home Learning Resources for Geographers - #39 - JBA Trust Resources

Thanks to Bob Lang for the tipoff to these resources from the JBA Trust.

This is an organisation which I hadn't been aware of previously.

JBA Trust was created in 2011 as an independent charity that supports research and promotes the development of knowledge and skills in environmental risk management, especially in the water environment.

We work with leading academic researchers, NGOs, charities and the JBA Group of companies to:
  • provide water management training and education in schools and in the flood risk management community;
  • provide training opportunities through placements and internships;
  • support post-graduate education through provision of technical expertise and financial bursaries for MSc and PhD studentships;
  • help with knowledge exchange, sharing best practice and providing training resources for relevant professions
  • support, sponsor and deliver high quality research.

They also have an excellent interactive map showing management projects which have been put in place to deal with river flooding.

All the Education Resources are shared under a Creative Commons license.

There are activities relating to Rivers, Coast, Flood Risk, Landscape management and engineering.
There are videos and associated worksheets for different age groups. The Secondary ones are quite sophisticated work.

The Primary activities are well pitched.
