Yesterday was the hottest day of the year - temperatures on the Norfolk coast were around 27 degrees.
Many had been at home for the previous 6 or 7 weeks.
A quarter of the British workforce has been furloughed and is being paid to stay at home, so doesn't have to go to work.
Schools are approaching half term.
The uncertainty about travelling created a situation where it seems it is OK to travel a long distance even though that increases traffic, and if you were to go to the beach there may be a need for St. Johns Ambulance, RNLI, Coastguard etc. to be required.
