At a time when some cities are removing trees, such as the widely reported situation in Sheffield over the last few years. they should be planting more trees.
This article explores why shade is so important in cities and how urban design needs to take more notice of the climate emergency.

We are fortunate in the UK to generally have cities which contain trees to provide us with shade. We need to plant rather a lot more of them thouugh, in cities and in rural areas around the world where appropriate.
