GEO - a new project involving the GA

It's fantastic news to see a new project involving the Geographical Association. I was involved in so many when working for them during the Action Plan for Geography.

This particular one was revealed last week and has come about partly as a result of the present pandemic
GEO stands for Geography Education Online.

Launching in autumn 2020, GEO is an innovative new standalone website created by the GA specifically for GCSE and A level geography students. GEO’s purpose is to provide engaging and high-quality geography support for students, many of whom face ongoing disruption to their learning as a result of COVID-19.

Through the GEO website, students will be able to access live online sessions with fieldwork tutors, live academic lectures and interactive subject content, free of charge. The perfect way to support your students through their GCSE and A level study.

GEO is funded by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

A sample of the content is available now. Download this web enquiry, incorporating a planning toolkit and designed to help students as they work through the different stages of the independent investigation.
