Leeds in the 1970s

A cross post from my OCR B Geography teaching blog, for those teaching that specification. If you are, the 2nd editions of the Hodder textbooks are out in a few weeks' time.

Patrick Nuttgens, in 1973 talking about the Leeds of the 1970s.
I used to visit around that time, to watch the classic Don Revie era team play their home matches at Elland Road. They get a mention about 20 minutes in, including the late Norman Hunter.
It was becoming 'Motorway City' about this time, as the M1 was joined by other major roads cutting through the outskirts of the city centre and ringing it.

I love the chalk drawn model of Leeds that he draws on the ground about 15 minutes in.... good stuff there.

Thanks to Rachael Unsworth for the link.
