For the last 5 months I've been taking a walk through a series of fields to the north of my village in Norfolk quite regularly. I've watched a crop be seeded and then slowly grow and mature. It is a crop of sugar beet.
British Sugar has created a Field to Spoon website which explores the process by which this crop, when it is harvested within the next month or so will be turned into sugar.

It takes on average 7 #sugarbeet roots to make a 1kg bag of Silver Spoon sugar. Find out more about its journey from field to spoon here: https://t.co/jR0xtavnYY #Farm24 @FarmersGuardian @Morrisons pic.twitter.com/7TuYJTCaMH— British Sugar (@BritishSugar) August 6, 2020
