After the success of the last-minute move to an online conference which was forced on the GA in February-March 2020, the decision has been taken earlier this time.
It is clear that there will be limits on gatherings which will make the conference difficult to have as a face to face event, and uncertainty about future lockdowns mean hotel bookings, conference venue arrangements etc are not definite.
With more advance notice, and a focus on online organisation now, we will be able to have a conference that is more flexible and closer to the 'real thing' than ever. Susan Pike and the conference organising team are now focusing on making Conference 2021 as good as it can be, and we hope that 2022 will see a return to face to face events.
