Time for Geography - new glacier video

Glaciers are precious natural resources, providing vital water to millions of people and countless ecosystems across the planet. But almost all glaciers around the world are shrinking as global temperatures increase. Some are shrinking at an alarming rate.

In this video, together with glaciologists Dr Bethan Davies and Dr Simon Cook, Time for Geography take a closer look at glacier systems and how they respond to climate change, including:
  • Where and how glaciers form
  • Accumulation and ablation
  • The equilibrium line
  • Glacier mass balance
  • How glaciers respond to changes in climate
