Census 2021 will take place later this year. There will be some additional issues surrounding collection of data due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the count is going ahead, and recruitment has also taken place, with thousand of part times jobs created - important at these times. The data collected by the Census is likely to confirm some of the trends seen in the article here for example.
It's a decadal opportunity to explore the important case study of demography and it's a useful context for teaching the ideas within population geographies, but also the importance of 'big' data sets.
It is also something we should be 'claiming' for geography.
A number of resources will be available nearer the time, including on the GA website and will also be featured in an article in the Spring 2021 GA Journals.
