Stanford's Travel Writing Festival 2021

This starts tomorrow: the 28th of January 2021.

A range of free talks from some familiar names, and some that were new to me. From William Dalrymple's huge sprawling book on the East India Company to the funny travelogues of Bill Aitken, with his Gran Tour, to Nicholas Crane, there's something here for everyone.

Still time to support Stanford's as well, to ensure that it is still around when we are all able to browse in bookshops in person again.

The details of the talks can be found HERE.

Videos will be released daily from the 28th onwards.

There are several here relating to books I have on my 'to buy' list, which is a very long list. These include Erika Fatland's 'The Border'.

Also Nicholas Crane's talk on 'Why Geography Matters', at 11am this Saturday, followed by Simon Reeve and Levison Wood. Take a good look at the schedule.
