Green Wedges

I posted previously about the challenges and pressures on the green belt with the narrative about the need for affordable housing (although there are plenty of empty buildings and brownfield options closer in to town and cities which should be used first)

The local paper for the East of England: the EDP has reported on the plan by CPRE to develop green wedges rather than a green belt.

The CPRE is urging people responding to the consultation over the local plan to express support for its vision of 'green wedges' following existing green corridors, such as river valleys, railway lines and major footpaths and cycleways.
